Denise Welch would be a 'bloody great' mum-in-law to Taylor Swift according to Loose Women co-star Kerry Katona

Denise Welch would be a "bloody great" mother-in-law to Taylor Swift, according to her pal Kerry Katona.

The North East-born actress' son Matt Healy is rumoured to be dating the megastar singer who he is currently on tour with in Nashville.

Since talk of the pair's romance began circulating, the prospect of Denise, who grew-up in Whitley Bay and County Durham and Matt's dad Tim Healy, from Benwell, Newcastle, being related to Taylor has hot gossip on social media.

But Denise's Loose Women co-host Kerry, 42, has voiced her support for her pal, saying she thinks Taylor, 33, would be lucky to have Denise, 67, in her life.

She said: "I think they make a nice couple. Imagine Denise as Taylor’s mother-in-law – she’d be bloody great!"

As reported by ChronicleLive, Benidorm actor Tim responded bluntly to a troll who said the idea of him and Denise being related to Taylor was 'funny' with "Why?"

Rumours of 1975 frontman Matt's relationship with the pop star were reported last week, soon after it was revealed that Taylor had split from boyfriend of six years Joe Alwin.

It is reported the actor "struggled with Taylor's level of fame and the attention from the public", which is why they parted ways.

But Matt was seen swooning as he watched his rumoured girlfriend at one of her concerts recently.

The singer was in the VIP area with Taylor's friend Gigi Hadid on Saturday night when he put his hand to his chest and smiled up at the sky with his eyes closed, during the star's Nashville gig.

It's been widely reported Matt, 34, and Taylor are "madly in love", with past reports saying they would step out together in Nashville - which has proved to be true.

Taylor posed for a photo with Denise back in January after the pair met backstage at a 1975 concert at The O2 in London.

The singer appeared on stage with the band as a special guest and then posed for the snap, which Denise shared on Instagram.

The actress was inundated with comments on the post, including from Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin who said: "You're such a legend hanging out with Taylor."
