Denise Welch has seen the funny side, after being the subject of a video 'hoax' that led fans to believe that she had joined Matty Healy and his band The 1975 on stage for a p[performance at the weekend.
Proud mum Denise tries to get to a 1975 gig whenever she can, famously receiving a royal welcome from fans as she attended the opening night of their recent arena tour in Brighton earlier this year, before her ex husband and Matty's dad, Tim Healy, stole the show when he sang on stage at the group's Newcastle gig.
Denise even risked capture on Celebrity Hunted at the end of last month, when she and husband Lincoln Townley 'broke cover' to go and see The 1975 perform at Radio 1's One Big Weekend in Dundee.
Giving that Tim has now duetted with Matty on stage, Denise doing the same is certainly not out of the reams of possibility, especially given that she had her own top 30 hit back in 1995, with her version of Dusty Springfield's You Don't Have To Say You Love Me. And fans were tricked into thinking the Loose Women star had done just that, when a video was posted on Twitter at the weekend, captioned: "Matty Healey’s mother joined the band on stage at tonight’s The 1975 gig," with the added use of the 'siren' emoji, having people thinking this was a breaking update they needed to check out.
However, rather than Denise in the video, the video was actually of Pink in Sunderland, at the end of her first of two gigs at the Stadium of Light on her Summer Carnival tour .The clip sees Pink, with a short blonde hair do not too dissimilar to Denise's, on a high wire as she somersaults over the audience below her.
After noticing the video herself, Denise actually shared it on her on Twitter page, replying to the original post by writing: "It’s Healy and I’m still dizzy!!"
Some Twitter users admitted they were sure it was Denise in the video, with one tweeting: "I’ve been seeing this clip for days. People kept saying it was Denise Welch and i just minded my own f**king business and let her crack on. I’ve only just realised this is Pink.," with another tweeting: "Someone tweeted this yesterday saying it was Denise Welch at a 1975 concert, and then she cosigned it, and I watched it without sound on and was like "damn.. good for her" and I've just now watched it with the sound on and - I hate you guys!!"
