Denise Welch leapt to Michelle Heaton's defence after she was eliminated from Dancing On Ice at the weekend, blasting the 'totally ridiculous' scores handed out on the latest episode of the ITV show.
The Loose Women presenter, 64, was one of many viewers unhappy with the result on Sunday night, which saw Liberty X star Michelle sent home after ending up at the bottom of the leader board during musicals week. Gateshead-born Michelle, 43, and partner Lukasz missed out on a second chance in the skate-off after it was scrapped for one week only - a decision that left fans demanding an explanation.
Taking to Twitter to blast the scores, Denise wrote in defence of her friend: "There is no way Michelle should be at the bottom!!! Totally ridiculous."

Many Dancing On Ice viewers agreed with Denise, also taking to social media to air their frustrations. "I'm no fan of Michelle at all but those scores were criminal, she deserved one," one person said.
Another fumed: "WTAF with those scores for Michelle?? Seriously, the judges are ruining this show with their farcical scores."
Michelle herself took to Instagram on Sunday evening to admit that she was "heartbroken" at the outcome. She added: "I am overwhelmed with the support on this platform and others, I hear the frustration... trust me, I am sad too.
"But guys, as one door closes another must open coz it’s the only way! We get up dust ourselves off and fight for the next dream. I hope I’ve done you all proud."
