Denise Welch has an unlikely connection to Michael Caine - after she went viral for making Tom Cruise laugh with a crude joke.
The Loose Women star celebrated Michael's 90th birthday with a string of Hollywood stars including Tom, before making the Mission Impossible star hysterically laugh with the joke. The panellist was at the birthday bash when she stood up to give a speech.
The star was filmed at the end of the table before the camera panned to Michael Caine and Tom Cruise in fits of laughter. Denise uploaded the clip to her Instagram page where she explained that she was asked to give a speech at the event.
Some fans were left puzzled at how she might know the Hollywood stars but all has been revealed.
Denise has been good friends with the legendary actor for some time after her husband Lincoln Townley painted the star. He was commissioned to create the stunning abstract artworks and he also sells some prints to the wider public.
The TV star shared a video of the joke she told, with fans rushing to share their views on it.
Captioning the post, Denise wrote: "Such an honour to be asked by Shakira to say a few words at Sir Michael Caines’ 90th birthday!!! He loves a dirty joke and so does @tomcruise it appears!!!! Great night and amazing company @nctopsy @therivercafelondon."

A third shared: "Casual camera pan to Michael Caine and Tom Cruise," as another wrote on social media: "Tom Cruise skipping the Oscars to watch Denise perform stand up was not on my 2023 bingo card."
"No way is that Tom Cruise & Michael Caine.... just fainted I can't imagine being at the same table as Hollywood Royalty," one penned.
Meanwhile, Denise has had a lot to celebrate recently after she recently became a grandmother for the first time after her stepson Lewis and his wife Lizzie welcomed a baby boy into the world.
"My husband and I became nana and grandad two days ago! My step son Lewis and his wife Lizzie, gave birth to a beautiful little boy," she said at the time, "I can't say much more because they haven't done the photo reveal and everything so I'll do that as soon as I can.
"I've gone for nana because when you've have blended families you have to share the baby out between so many people."
