Denise Welch fumes as Charlene White gets pally with Matt Hancock in I'm A Celeb

Loose Women panelist Denise Welch has expressed her anger at her fellow panelist Charlene White as she appears to get pally with Matt Hancock on I'm A Celebrity.

Denise has made it no secret that she is far from the former health secretary's biggest fan - and previously branded his stint in the ITV show 'disgusting'. Now the star has taken to Twitter to rage after Charlene and Matt seemed to bond after taking part in a task together in last night's show.

One fan tweeted a clip of Denise screaming in one of her acting roles and wrote: "Denise Welch seeing Charlene and Matt being besties." And Denise seemed to give the nod she agreed with the sentiment as she replied: "Brilliant and true!!!" with two angry, swearing emojis.

In Sunday's episode, the former health secretary was made camp leader after being selected by the public along with Mike Tindall. The pair then had to choose deputies and face each other in a blindfold challenge to be named leader. Matt chose Charlene as his deputy, and after they won the pair had to assign chores to their campmates. The leader and deputy were then exempt from taking part and doing maintenance around the camp.

Meanwhile, both Matt and Charlene said it was 'going to be hard' to assign chores while they sit back, writes The Mirror. Matt started to tell the camp who was doing what when Jill interrupted and had a laugh at the politician's expense.

Jill said: "Just to be clear, are these guidelines or rules?" Matt answered: "These are rules. This is the law of the jungle, Jill."

She laughed: "Just checking."

After his arrival in the jungle, campmates had quizzed him about the pandemic and he insisted he did not break any laws - but admitted to breaking Covid guidance.

He denied breaking any Covid laws when grilled about his resignation as Health Secretary in 2021. It followed Hancock and government aide Gina Coladangelo's affair being outed, as well as the fact the pair had broken strict Covid guidelines - which he says was down to him "falling in love".

The affair was exposed after Hancock was caught on CCTV sharing a kiss with Gina, with it believed that the images were leaked by an insider at the Department of Health on May 6, 2021. The politician denied getting a lockdown fine after it was revealed that gatherings took place with political figures.

Radio DJ Chris Moyles asked him: "You got a lockdown fine, didn’t you?" to which he replied: "No, of course I didn’t. No, I did not. I didn’t break any…"

Charlene said: "You were socialising with someone outside of your household," with him replying: "I didn’t break any laws. Guidance is different."

A Place In The Sun star Scarlette Douglas asked why he did what he did and he said: "Because it was a mistake, because I fell in love with somebody."
