Denise Richards' divorce from Charlie Sheen was "way worse than what was out there" the actress has confirmed.
The famous pair called it quits in 2005 while Denise was six months pregnant with the Two and a Half Men star's second child. And now, almost two decades later, Denise has revealed there were "many things" that caused their marriage to break down.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, 51, alum spoke on Dear Media's latest Divorced Not Dead podcast to look back at what she called a "difficult" split. She told the show's host Caroline Stanbury: "The behind-the-scenes stuff was way worse than what was out there."
Denise revealed she would often have to put on a united front with her ex, but labelled things at home "really bad". She continued to say it was her daughters - Sami, 18, and Lola, 17 - who were the final reason behind her leaving the actor.
She described how she asked herself: "'Would I want my daughters to be married to this man?' No offence to him, but I think he would take that and understand what I'm saying. It was very toxic."
However, she admitted she doesn't regret their marriage despite their complicated history, saying she believes the pair were "brought together to have our daughters".
The model went on to say the pair did try to reconcile "for a very brief time" after Lola was born, but their attempts just proved they weren't destined to be together any longer.
"It made me also know I could one day tell my girls that I did everything I could possibly do to make this family unit," she continued. "I felt the most guilty splitting up the family unit. I struggled with that for years."
Denise caused outrage last month as she teased she was going to work together with daughter Sami on an OnlyFans shoot.
The 18-year-old took to her own page to say: "As you know, I’m shooting with my mom soon @deniserichards," she wrote on her page. "If you tip in, I’ll make sure to send you a extra special and sweet video from both of us."
While some fans were open to the idea, others slammed it and called the post "weird". One user One user added: "As a mom of 2 daughters, I find this very disturbing.. I love my girls but C'mon..I'm so grossed out!"
Another penned: ""Ummm NO! Who the hell does that with their child?! That's wildly inappropriate and disgusting."
