Scotland fans will pay tribute to one of the nation’s greatest footballing icons, Denis Law, ahead of their highly anticipated UEFA Nations League play-off tie against Greece on March 23.
Law, a legend of both Manchester United and the Scotland national team, will be honoured in a special pre-match ceremony, including a TIFO display in the North Stand at Hampden Park.
To make this tribute a reality, volunteers are being called upon to assist with the TIFO’s setup on matchday. The Scottish FA say volunteers will need to be available from 9am on Sunday to help prepare the display, with food provided to all those who take part. Volunteers must be 16 or older and ready to help bring this homage to life in a meaningful and memorable way.
Law’s legendary career saw him become the first Scotsman to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 1964, and he remains one of Scotland’s most revered figures.

His 30 goals for Scotland, which made him his country’s joint top scorer, and his remarkable performances for both club and country, including a starring role in the 1967 British Home Championship-winning side, have left an indelible mark on the history of the sport
In his hometown of Aberdeen, Law’s legacy is immortalised with a statue, and an eye-catching large mural of the football legend has also been painted on a high-rise building in the Granite City, ensuring his impact is felt not just in the football world, but in the heart of the community.

As Steve Clarke’s side prepare to take on Greece in their first international encounter of 2025, the tribute to Law will serve as a poignant reminder of Scotland’s rich football heritage and the lasting impact of one of the game’s greats.
Fans located in the other three stands are encouraged to arrive early to witness the display.
