Protesters took to the streets of Dumfries at the weekend to show their support for the people of war-torn Ukraine.
The rally attracted an estimated crowd of 150 and raised more than £650.
It was organised by D&G Queerier with backing from various groups and a spokeswoman posted praise on a Facebook page to all those who took part saying: “Thanks everyone who came to make a placard beforehand, to the poets, activists and speakers, and everyone who made it possible and showed just how kind and supportive and caring people are in Dumfries.”

The post added that the £653 collected will go to the local charity MOOL’S convoy to Ukraine.
One onlooker said: “There was a really good turnout at the Plain Stanes and Mid Steeple for the event. It was a really good atmosphere with everyone backing the protest against this awful war in Ukraine. It also looked like quite a bit of money was raised as well for the cause and it shows that people care in this area for people suffering elsewhere in the world.”
