Reigning premiers Melbourne have dumped four players including forward Sam Weideman for Sunday's AFL game against St Kilda.

Coach Simon Goodwin has axed Weideman, Jake Melksham, Luke Dunstan and Toby Bedford while Joel Smith is unavailable for the MCG fixture due to injury.

The unbeaten Demons have recalled Alex Neal-Bullen, Harrison Petty, Kysaiah Pickett, Luke Jackson and Tom Sparrow.

The fourth-placed Saints have made two changes, recalling ruckman Rowan Marshall from a thigh injury and summoning Zak Jones for his first AFL game this season.

Rookie midfielder Marcus Windhager has been omitted along with Jarrod Lienert and Tom Campbell.

Meanwhile, Carlton have replaced the suspended Liam Stocker with Zac Williams for Sunday's Marvel Stadium clash against Adelaide.

The Crows dropped 2017 club champion Matt Crouch while losing Brodie Smith and Ned McHenry, who were both concussed last weekend.

Adelaide, with senior assistant Scott Burns to coach in the absence of head coach Matthew Nicks due to COVID-19, have called up Mitch Hinge and Will Hamill.
