'Demon dog' FINALLY adopted before 'fire-breathing total jerk' returned to shelter again

A rescue dog dubbed a "fire-breathing demon" was finally adopted only to be returned to the shelter again after the new owner found him more than she could handle.

Now Ralphie, a French Bulldog, is back at a Niagara Falls animal shelter, New York State, US, and his repeat minders are looking for someone willing to take him on.

The Niagara SPCA wrote on Facebook this week that “while the adopter had the right household dynamic, Ralphie proved to be more than she could handle.”

Rather than throwing the rogue pooch straight in with a new owner, the shelter are spending $6,000 to get Ralphie properly trained.

The shelter detailed some of his difficult behaviour, even sharing a video of him attacking a mop and trying to nip carers fingers.

A post on their Facebook read: "He's a whole jerk - not even half. Everything belongs to him. If you dare test his ability to possess THE things, wrath will ensue.

"If you show a moment of weakness, prepare to be exploited. Sounds fun, huh?"

Ralphie was described as a “terror in a somewhat small package" in the first Facebook post listing the need for adoption on the shelters' page.

The humorous post read: “We’re sure you’re thinking: my ankles will be just fine. We’d caution — proceed at your own risk.

“Our best guess is that Ralphie’s cute face got him whatever he wanted and boundaries are something he heard people talk about, but they didn’t apply to him."

They added: "The ideal home for Ralphie is the Mother of Dragons, or an adult home free of other animals, with an owner who will lead him calmly and sternly- putting up with zero crap."

His doggie boot camp starts on Monday February 20 and the shelter have promised to provide updates.

The shelter hope someone living locally will be able to work with the trainer and then adopt Ralphie.

But they warned people who believe "all Ralphie needs is love" should not apply. "He will totally exploit that", the advert read.

Nor should anyone with other animals or kids as "Ralphie has a bite history. You should not want that for your child- 2 legged or 4 (but possibly 3)".

The SPCA is raising money to help pay for the "demon's" training and have launched a fundraiser to raise the money.

This isn't the first two-week stint Ralphie has done with an unprepared adopter.

Accroding to the first advert posted by the shelter: "He was rehomed. Two weeks into this new home and he was surrendered to us because 'annoys our older dog'. What they actually meant was: Ralphie is a fire-breathing demon and will eat our dog, but hey, he's only 26lbs."
