Democrats Raise $127M For 2024 Election Cycle, Outpacing Republicans

The RNC raised $9 million to the DNC’s $7 million, the NRSC raised $7 million to the DSCC’s $6 million, and the NRCC raised $7.8 million to the DCCC’s $7.7 million.

As of May 31, 2023, the most recent party committee campaign finance filing deadline, the three committees associated with the Democratic Party have raised a cumulative $127 million for the 2024 election cycle, while the three committees associated with the Republican Party have raised $107 million.

The three Democratic committees are the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). The three Republican committees are the Republican National Committee (RNC), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

Last month, all three Republican committees outraised their Democratic counterparts for the first time this election cycle. The RNC raised $9 million to the DNC’s $7 million, the NRSC raised $7 million to the DSCC’s $6 million, and the NRCC raised $7.8 million to the DCCC’s $7.7 million.

However, the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC each maintain a lead over their Republican counterparts in cumulative receipts and disbursements. See the table below for exact figures.

Compared to previous cycles, the Democratic committees’ cumulative receipts as of May is at $127 million which currently outpaces their receipts at this point in the 2020 election cycle of $106 million but are lower than their receipts at this point in the 2022 election cycle of $169 million.

On the Republican side, the three committees have raised $107 million as of last month, which is lower than their May 2019 fundraising total of $141 million and their May 2021 fundraising total of $169 million.
