Democrats hold on to Kentucky 93rd House District seat

Democrats held on to the 93rd district state house seat formerly held by Lamin Swann of Lexington, who died in May. Adrielle Camuel beat Republican Kyle Whalen – who lost to Swann last year -- to fill the remainder of Swann’s term. Camuel is an administrative assistant with Fayette County Public schools. She told WEKU News a top priority will be helping senior citizens get the care and services they need.

“One of the things that I would really I really hope that I can work on. And this one is a completely non partisan issue, and that is eldercare. I do believe that every Kentucky and should be able to age with dignity.”

Asked what she hopes to achieve in a Republican-dominated house, Camuel said she’ll use skills she employs at work.

“When parents call if they're upset about something that has happened in an elementary school, when they call me, I take the time to hear what it is that they're saying, and then start working with them, once we can really pinpoint what the issue is, then start working with them to solve it.”

Camuel said she plans to run for reelection next year.
