Casten, in an article in the Chicago Tribune, called for Biden to 'pass the torch to a new generation,' while Heinrich stated that withdrawing from the campaign would solidify Biden's legacy as one of the nation's greatest leaders.

In a joint statement, Huffman, Pocan, Garcia, and Veasey expressed concerns about public perceptions of Biden's age and fitness, stating that these concerns are jeopardizing what should be a winning campaign.
