According to sources familiar with the discussions, some Democratic governors are looking to arrange a meeting with the White House to address their concerns about President Joe Biden in the wake of his lackluster debate performance.
The concerns were raised during a call on Monday led by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, which was exclusively attended by governors. During the call, the governors expressed surprise at not having heard directly from President Biden and emphasized the need for direct communication from him.
There was also talk of potentially having Vice President Kamala Harris speak to the governors on the issues at hand. Despite their worries about publicly voicing their concerns, the governors are apprehensive that doing so may cause President Biden to become more entrenched in his position.
Plans are currently in progress for a meeting at the White House, although a date has not yet been set. The governors are seeking a platform to address their worries and engage in a dialogue with the administration to address their concerns.
