Demi Moore has shared her thoughts on ageing, as she hopes to defy social expectations of older women ahead of her milestone birthday.
The Hollywood actress will turn 60 in November and has said she is determined to remain 'desirable' and 'sexy' as she grows older.
While discussing her new collection for swimwear brand Andie, Demi also shared her thoughts on aging and criticised the idea women should resign to being old when they reach middle-age.
"It’s changing this idea that women become less desirable as we get older. We don’t want to look matronly or not feel sexy," she told People magazine.
Demi added: "When I think of my grandmother at 60, she in a way seemed to be already resigned to being old. But I feel, in so many ways, more alive and present than ever."
She said it doesn't mean older women need to always dress in revealing outfits to be sexy.
While at her Idaho home with her blended family — daughters Rumer, 33, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 28, plus ex-husband Bruce Willis, 67, and his wife Emma Heming Willis, 46, and children Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8 — Demi spends most of her time in casual clothes.
"When I’m in Idaho, it’s generally overalls all day, every day," she said.
"That’s as much me as wearing a super-gorgeous red carpet gown or a chic designer outfit front row at fashion week."
Demi's swimwear collection, Demi Moore x Andie, launched on July 7, with the star sharing the news on Instagram.
Posing in one of her latest pieces, she said: "Demi Moore X Andie is finally HERE! We're so excited to share this exclusive collection of glamorous, vintage-inspired swimwear with you."
She later shared some more pictures from the collection and wrote: "As a supporter, investor, and long-time fan of @AndieSwim, I couldn’t have been more thrilled when founder @MelanieTravis asked me to co-design this collection.
"Creating these pieces was so much fun and I hope you love them as much as we loved making them!"
The swimwear brand then commented on her post and said: "Best collab ever," with a red heart emoji.
