Demi Moore joins Landman drama series as a series regular

Taylor Sheridan's next drama series Landman has cast Demi Moore as a series regular.

Prominent actress Demi Moore has been cast in the upcoming drama series Landman, created by Taylor Sheridan. Moore, known for her roles in films like Ghost and A Few Good Men, will take on a substantial role alongside Billy Bob Thornton, who was previously announced as a series regular. In Landman, she will portray Cami, the wife of one of the most influential oil tycoons in Texas and a friend to Tommy Norris, played by Thornton.

Moore joins a lineup of esteemed film stars from the 1980s and '90s who have found a home in Sheridan's television projects. Harrison Ford, Kevin Costner, Helen Mirren, Sylvester Stallone, and Nicole Kidman have all lent their talents to Sheridan's shows. Currently, Moore can also be seen in the FX/Hulu anthology series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.

Set in the thriving towns of West Texas, Landman draws inspiration from the popular 11-part podcast Boomtown. Described by Paramount+ as a contemporary tale, the show delves into the world of oil rigs and the pursuit of fortune. It intertwines the stories of hardworking roughnecks with those of ambitious billionaires, showcasing how their actions shape not only the climate and economy but also geopolitics.

Landman, co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, features an ensemble cast that includes Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia). Filming has already commenced in and around Fort Worth, Texas, with MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan's Bosque Ranch Productions overseeing production.

This latest venture adds to Paramount+'s growing catalog of Taylor Sheridan projects, joining the likes of 1923, 1883, Special Ops: Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Additionally, Sheridan's acclaimed flagship show, Yellowstone, is preparing to begin filming its final season for the Paramount Network later this spring.

Landman promises to captivate audiences with its engrossing narrative and the stellar performances of its talented cast. With Sheridan's track record of delivering compelling and thought-provoking storytelling, viewers can anticipate another gripping series that tackles important themes while transporting them to the intriguing world of the oil industry in West Texas.
