On Sunday, the Chicago Bulls lost their fourth-straight game, as they gave up 150 points to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 24-point loss.
“In the moment, real time what it feels like, it definitely sucks. It’s frustrating,” DeMar DeRozan said of the 24-point loss to Minnesota. “It should be the ultimate lesson learned of what it’s like when you let something slip.”
The Bulls played one of their best games on the offensive end in the loss, scoring 126 points on 52.3% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point range, but defensively, Chicago was out of sync with inconsistent effort.
“Giving up 150 points is beyond embarrassing,” DeRozan said. “We gotta feel that. You gotta feel low right now. You gotta feel frustrated. You gotta feel all the bad emotions to try and understand why.”
The Bulls currently sit as the No. 11 seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 11-18 and if they want to make a run at the playoffs, the effort on defense must get better quickly.
“As competitors, it’s embarrassing to give up that many points,” DeRozan said. “Nothing against Minnesota, but it’s not like we’re playing against the 2016 Golden State Warriors. We gotta do better.”
