Dem Senator Points Out That Trump Is Deporting Fewer Criminal Immigrants Than Biden: 'These Guys Are Terrible at Everything'

Connecticut Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy pointed out that President Donald Trump is deporting fewer criminal immigrants than Joe Biden did his first week in office.

Murphy stated in an X post shared on Thursday that Trump has removed 7,300 undocumented Americans with criminal records, starting on January 20. It's less than half of the 15,000 Biden had deported during the same time frame in 2021.

"Under Biden 72% of ICE arrests were criminals. Under Trump it's dropped to around 50%," Murphy wrote. "Trump is removing less people and less criminals. These guys are terrible at everything."

The senator's post was in response to an update from Homeland Security in which it boasted that the Trump Administration has "fulfilled President Trump's promise to the American people to arrest and deport violent criminals illegally in the country."

Internet users were confounded by the post, with one X user accusing Murphy, who has been senator since 2013, of "playing with the numbers to cover for Biden's disaster."

Others wondered why a Democratic politician was gloating over breaking up families.

"This is what I am talking about. You fully support fascism, you just want it to be blue fascism. You are out of touch with what the base and what progressives want. You really love extreme, far right fascist policies," X user @Yank33Doodl3 wrote.
