Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the Army veteran responsible for the terrorist attack at a New Year's celebration in New Orleans, was employed by consulting firm Deloitte, where he earned approximately $10,000 per month.
Deloitte released a statement confirming that Jabbar had been working in a staff-level position since his hiring in 2021 and expressed their shock at the news of his involvement in the attack. The company stated that they are cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation.
The tragic incident occurred when Jabbar drove a truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street during the early hours of New Year's Day, resulting in the death of 15 individuals and causing injuries to numerous others. Jabbar, a U.S.-born citizen residing in Texas, lost his life at the scene of the attack.
Deloitte emphasized their outrage at the violence and pledged to provide any necessary assistance to the ongoing investigation. The firm, like the rest of the community, condemned the senseless act and reiterated their commitment to supporting law enforcement in their efforts to uncover the motives behind the attack.
