The incident took place in Gamble Street, Nottingham, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 24. Nottinghamshire Police reports a group of four men approached the driver and tried to steal his moped.
The victim was punched to the head several times before one of the attackers pulled out a blade, according to police. During the struggle, one of the men grabbed the victim’s moped and house keys.

They were interrupted by a passing car and fled from the scene in the direction of Alfreton Road on either mopeds or motorbikes. Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim was left extremely shaken and confused by the incident and it must have been upsetting for him.
“We will not tolerate this sort of attack on someone working hard and earning their living in the city. We are determined to track down the offenders and return this man’s keys to him.
“This is a busy part of the city and we would like to hear from anyone with information about what happened in the moments before, during and after the incident.
“If you witnessed anything or have any dash-cam footage which could assist officers please get in touch.” Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident 639 of 24 January 2023, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
