A Deliveroo rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.
Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service rushed to Woolton Road, at the junction of Heathfield Road in Wavetree, at around 5.48pm following reports of a crash.
Once at the scene the emergency services found a young man had been hit by a grey Jaguar.

One eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said they heard a "huge bang" and turned around to see the Deliveroo rider, who was peddling an e-bike, lying in the middle of the road.
The driver of the Jaguar stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The eyewitness said: "Two off duty doctors and an off duty police officer came out of nowhere and were helping the man. People in houses nearby came out to help and some neighbours had blankets for him.
"He was lying in the middle of the road for around half an hour after I called the ambulance, and then he must have gone into shock and he stopped breathing for just under a minute.
"He came back and we called the ambulance back, they put the priority up. Two ambulances arrived at around 6.30pm."
The witness said the Deliveroo driver had 'serious injuries to his legs' and was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service.
Woolton Road from the junction of Heathfield Road to Meldrum Road was closed at the time of the crash and remains closed while emergency services respond to the incident.
