Deliveroo driver sacked after opening woman's Boots bag and mocking her medicine in clip

A Deliveroo driver has been sacked after mocking a woman's Boots order to her face in a "despicable" viral video.

The man filmed himself handing over a bag containing Canesten antifungal cream, which is often used to treat vaginal infections such as thrush, after saying: "Someone's got some problems downstairs, man."

The "scumbag" was filmed sniggering as the woman picked up the package as the incident unfolded in Cambridgeshire, BirminghamLive reported.

In the footage, the woman is seen leaving her student accommodation to collect her Boots pharmacy medication from the driver when he repeatedly asks her what's in the bag.

She is filmed telling him "It's medicine", as he asks: "Oh, what for? What do you use it for? Face?"

He then added: "It's face cream is it?"

The confused student replied that it was face cream medication, but he mocked her and said "Oh okay. Right, see ya."

The delivery driver then turned the camera on himself and laughed.

His behaviour has been condemned online after he posted the vile 30-second footage of him confronting the woman on social media.

The clip was widely shared on Twitter by sickened social media users.

"This @Deliveroo driver decided to open this woman's package, record her and mock her for its contents," wrote one user.

"Men continue to have the f****** audacity.

"Like she's probably ordered it through deliveroo because buying it in person would be embarrassing and he's gone out of his way to make her uncomfortable AND post it online ?????"

Another user added: "Scumbag Deliveroo driver sacked for opening private medicine parcel …

"Why? Was he looking for something to steal from a pharmacy? … and then mocking woman who had ordered private medication. What is wrong with him. This Deliveroo delivery driver is despicable."

A Deliveroo spokesperson told the Mirror: "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and we will no longer work with this rider.

"We have contacted the customer to apologise and offer our support - and we are speaking to the platforms to request the video is taken down."
