Delighted Jean Johansson says Mastermind win was 'proudest' moment of career

Scots telly host Jean Johansson is still on cloud nine after winning Celebrity Mastermind at the weekend.

The A Place In The Sun presenter had a belter of a Saturday night, as viewers saw her crowned champion on the notoriously tough BBC One quiz show.

The only thing that topped Jean's happiness at her success was a congratulatory tweet from her specialist subject, Kylie Minogue.

The Australian singer reached out to the journalist after Jean gave a shout out to her on Twitter following her win.

Still reflecting on the last couple of days, delighted mum-of-one Jean told Instagram followers she was having a "happy Monday" and thanked everyone for their well wishes.

Jean, 31, had taken to Twitter yesterday to share a snap of herself with her trophy, saying: "I did it!! I won #CelebrityMastermind @BBCOne thanks to my girl @kylieminogue."

I Should Be So Lucky legend Kylie then shared Jean's tweet and added a line of happy emojis including a trophy, a heart and the clapping icon.

Jean's happiness at winning the coveted Mastermind trophy was infectious on Saturday night and dozens of fans - and some of her famous pals - rushed to congratulate her.

Following her win, she said it had been one of the "proudest" moments of her career.

She said: " I won @bbcone Celebrity Mastermind! One of the proudest moments of my career! I hope @kylieminogue was watching. Thrilled to raise money for @cardiacriskintheyoung."

She scored impressively with her specialist subject round then went on to do even better in the general knowledge section, ending with a not too shabby 19 points in total!

Some Scots were particularly amused by her retort to one of the questions, which gave a hint at the Port-Glasgow born star's roots.

When Jean was asked by host Clive Myrie: "In 1887, Percy Bulmer, son of a clergyman from Herefordshire, established a business making what alcoholic drink?"

Jean hilariously replied: ""Buckfast?".

It's been a successful few weeks all round for Jean, who is married to former Rangers star Jonatan Johansson.

The star's recent BBC Scotland documentary - The Truth About Scotland and Racism - was praised by viewers.

Jean also presents shows like Animal Park, A Place in The Sun and Landward and appears as an occasional reporter on the BBC's primetime magazine programme The One Show.
