
New Delhi: Delhi Govt is likely to roll out Mahila Samriddhi Scheme in the capital on 8 March on the occasion of the International Women's Day, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Mahila Samriddhi Scheme promises Rs 2,500 monthly assistance to eligible women, aiming to empower them financially.
Eligibility
Here are the eligibility criteria:
* It is mendatory to be a woman from Delhi.
* Total income should not be more than Rs 3 lakh per year.

* Those earning more than Rs 3 lakh annually and having luxury facilities will be out of this scheme.
* Women from income tax paying families will also not get benefit under this scheme.
* To take advantage of the scheme, the age of the woman must be between 18 to 60 years.
* Women holding any government post or taking government benefits will not be included in this scheme.
* E-registration is necessary.

Registration for the Scheme has to be done online. The Delhi Government is developing an online portal through which the registration for the scheme will be done.
A separate software is also being developed along with this portal by the IT department through which verification of all forms will be done to identify the eligible women.
The Government plans to transfer the assistance directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
In its manifesto ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections, the BJP had promised to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women in Delhi if it comes to power.
The BJP defeated the AAP in the February 5 elections and by winning 48 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly came to power.
