Delhi Elections: Kejriwal refutes BJP's claim, vows to fight from New Delhi seat only

New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said he would contest the polls from the one seat only.

His clarification came after BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya, in a social media post, said Kejriwal was making "baseless allegations" about the electorate list in his constituency and talking about contesting from the second seat.

"I am contesting one seat only," Kejriwal said at a press conference on being asked about BJP's claims that he would fight from the second seat owing to fear of losing from his current seat.

He further added that there is a direct contest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Delhi Assembly Polls.

New Delhi Seat candidates 
BJP has picked EX-West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma while Congress chose Sandeep Dikshit for New Delhi seat against Kejriwal, who representing the seat since 2013.

Kejriwal also thanked INDIA alliance parties, including the Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT), for extending support to AAP for the upcoming elections.
 
Polls on Feb 5
The national capital will go to polls in single phase on Feb 5 while the outcome of 70-seat will be announced on Feb 8.
