Delhi Coaching Horror: 'We are open for discussions with students...' - Delhi Government

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai

New Delhi: In the wake of protests outside the coaching institutes in Delhi's Rajinder Nagar following the deaths of 3 UPSC aspirants in a flooding incident at the basement of Rau's IAS coaching centre, Delhi Environment Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai said the Delhi government is open to a discussion with the protesting students.

He said that there has been a voice from all over the country against the coaching centres, their fees, administrative parts and irregularities.

"There was a voice from all over the country against the coaching centres and their fees, administrative parts and irregularities," Gopal Rai said.

"This situation is not only in Delhi but in the whole country. The AAP party demands a joint committee where all political parties, parents and students will be represented, as well as representatives from coaching institutes. A law should be made on a national level," he added.

When asked about the Delhi government's efforts to meet with the protestors, Rai said that the Delhi government and Delhi MCD are speedily making decisions to resolve their issues.

"The government is open for discussion. We have taken the required steps. The government and mayor are taking steps to resolve the issues," Gopal Rai said.

"We stand with the students and parents. We request police handle the students calmly, as they are in grief,"  the Minister added. (with Agency inputs)
