New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested Ram Babu Mahto who is allegedly the mastermind of spurious liquor tragedy in Bihar in which several people lost their lives.
The accused was arrested from Dwarka area. Mahto is accused in two cases registered at Mashrak Police Station and Isuapur PS of Saran district, Delhi Police statement stated.

After the incident Mahto had absconded from Bihar and shifted his location to Delhi. Delhi Police received information that Mahto was hiding somewhere here. On the basis of surveillance as well as specific inputs, the accused was arrested from Dwarka area, it added.
Appropriate legal action was being taken and information about the arrest of Mahto has been shared with Bihar Police for further action, police added. Ram Babu has a history of several cases of illicit liquor, police said. (with UNI inputs)
