Dele Alli visited by police amid ongoing investigation after robbery at star's home

Dele Alli has been visited by a police officer at his home as the investigation into his robbery continues.

The Tottenham star was threatened by two assailants armed with knives at his property in Barnet, north London, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Alli was playing cards with girlfriend Ruby Mae, adopted brother Harry Hickford and his partner, when the two attackers broke in.

Both Alli and Hickford suffered facial injuries after being assaulted by the attackers, who took off with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and watches.

An officer was seen leaving the £2million pad on Thursday morning, just hours after Alli broke his silence on the incident and before the England star left his property for the first time following the incident.

Alli tweeted: "Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we're all okay now. Appreciate the support."

A source told the Mirror: "The two men were both carrying knives and threatened them and wanted to know where they could find the valuables," a source close to the star told the Mirror.

"They took a load of jewellery and watches which are extremely valuable.

"Dele was assaulted, he was punched in the face as he tried to put up a fight with the men and a struggle ensued.

"Harry got involved and was also injured."

It is unknown how the robbers gained access to the property, but they escaped with some of Allis prized possessions.

A statement by Met Police confirmed that no arrests had yet been made but inquiries were ongoing.

It read: "Police were called at approximately 12.35am on Wednesday, May 13, to reports of a robbery at a residential address.

"Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

"Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.

"There have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances continue."

Tottenham's official Twitter accounted tweeted: "We're with you Dele".

The club added: "We have been offering our support to Dele and those isolating with him. We encourage anyone with any information to help the police with their investigation to come forward."
