Dele Alli transfer latest: Tottenham decision, Newcastle United target, PSG wish

It is transfer deadline day and one player who could be on his way out of Tottenham before the January window slams shut is Dele Alli.

The midfielder has struggled to nail down a place in the Spurs starting XI since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino and has played in just two of Antonio Conte's last eight Premier League matches in charge.

This time last year, the 25-year-old looked set to move to Paris Saint-Germain, only for the deal to fall through late in the day.

But a number of clubs have come back in for him again, so could be on his way this time? Football.london takes a look at all the latest chatter surrounding him.

Crystal Palace and Everton join the hunt

Two Premier League rivals have joined the race for Alli's signature and it looks like being a case of an Arsenal legend and a Chelsea legend fighting over a Tottenham player, according to talkSPORT.

Frank Lampard has now taken over as manager at Goodison Park and the Toffees are interested in making Alli his first signing in charge on a permanent deal.

A temporary move to Selhurst Park is the other option on the table for the player, as Patrick Vieira looks to bolster his already impressive squad.

Berbatov offers advice

Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has backed Alli to stay at Spurs past the deadline, however, believing that the player has his eyes set on bigger clubs.

“I have seen that Brighton, Burnley, Everton and Newcastle have been linked with him. At 25, with all due respect, I'm not sure he's going to join any of those clubs," he said in an interview with BetFair.

“I think he values himself highly based on what he has done with Spurs. I think he would like to go to a team that is challenging for trophies. He's waiting for a big offer from a big club.”

Valencia link

Perhaps Alli's future does not lie in England at all.

According to The Athletic, La Liga side Valencia are interested in bringing in the 25-year-old, previously eyeing a double swoop for the 25-year-old and Bryan Gil.

It would be a left-field move for the player, but is it one that could benefit him?

PSG wish still alive

As mentioned before, Alli came close to leaving Spurs for Paris Saint-Germain this time last year.

But it eventually fell through and the player was cruelly denied the chance to line up alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the Parc Des Princes.

While plenty of Premier League interest remained this year, the Sun reported that Alli himself still had his hear set on a move to the French capital.

Newcastle target

Newcastle have reportedly had a longstanding interest in Alli, with the midfielder linked with St. James' Park consistently since the PIF takeover.

It is a move that could prove an exciting one to Alli with the Magpies potentially following a similar trajectory to Manchester City over the next few seasons.

But with Eddie Howe yet to steer his side away from danger, it is easy to see why some caution may well be applied.

Spurs decision

Prior to the January transfer window opening, it was reported that Spurs would allow Alli to leave in the winter.

MailOnline reported that the club would listed to offers from other clubs but that a temporary move away remained the most likely option for him.

The decision came in December after Antonio Conte had had time to assess Alli's position in his squad following his arrival.
