As Tottenham's current side ended the 2021/22 campaign on a high, some of the recent outgoings didn't have the same luck. Antonio Conte helped lead his Spurs side to a top four finish, which means a return to Champions League football for the next campaign.
There were improvements both on and off the pitch and after a tough pre-season, there are high hopes for next season. The Lilywhites saw a number of players leave last summer and two joined the list in January.
The outgoings moved across the globe to join their new teams and there were successes and struggles found with their new clubs. Injury and game time struggles faced some, whilst silverware and promotion left others on a high and football.london takes a look at how the outgoings ended their season at their new clubs.

Toby Alderweireld
Alderweireld had a successful first season in Qatar, making 19 features in the Qatar Stars League, which Al-Duhail finished second in. The defender also lifted the trophy with his new side, who won the Qatari Cup, earlier this year.
The Belgian is continuing to make an impact for his country too, playing 90 minutes in their 4-1 defeat to the Netherlands last week, with Alderweireld registering an assist for his side's only goal of the game.
Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose
Bad news for the Watford duo as their side were relegated to the Championship, after winning just six out of 38 games in the top flight, last season. Rose hasn't featured in a game since last December and Roy Hodgson made it clear that he wasn't in his plans.
However, the 31-year-old has gone very much under the radar, with no standout reports as to what the future holds for the former Tottenham man. Sissoko had a completely opposite first season at his new club.
The Frenchman not only featured in every Premier League game once he moved to Watford, the 32-year-old was also quickly handed the captain's armband. Just after the season finished, Sissoko gave his verdict on how his side had done. "Everyone is disappointed because we’ve known for a few weeks that we are going down. It’s been a tough season for everyone," he explained.
"I’ve given everything for the club this season, it probably wasn’t enough because we didn’t stay up and it’s been a difficult season, but the most important thing is to keep the positive attitude we showed today." The Watford side will be wanting to play Premier League football, which might mean some of them make the move away from the Hornets.
This could include Sissoko, with reported interest from newly promoted Fulham and if the midfielder does make the move away, he could return to the top flight before he's properly left.
Erik Lamela
Another player who got plenty of game time at his new club was Lamela. Aside from his injury, the Argentine got regular game time for Sevilla, making 20 La Liga appearances for his side who finished fourth. Once the season was over, the 30-year-old took to social media to thank the Spanish fans.
"We finished the season with good feelings and winning. An incredible atmosphere that was experienced yesterday at Pizjuan," Lamela wrote. "Thank you fans! Let's go @sevillafc"
Joe Hart
More silverware for the former Tottenham players as Hart won the Scottish Premiership with Celtic. The goalkeeper made 54 appearances in all competitions for his side, playing in league games, cup matches and Europe.
It has been a successful season for Hart, who only recently was on In the Stiffs podcast, opening up on his career so far. Since the season has ended, the 35-year-old has jetted off to Ibiza with his former Man City teammate Micah Richards. It was their first night on their holiday and Richards took to Instagram to show Hart in the back of the cab, after their night out.
The former defender said, "What's going on geez? Ibiza is not for all, look at them, how's it been? Hart, look at him, look at him curled up like a ball mate, miles off the pace. First night and look at the state of him," Richards joked, to which the keeper responded by biting his former teammates shoulder.
So it has been big celebrations for Hart, after his successful first campaign in Scotland.
Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier
The battle for a spot in Unai Emery's defence continued until the end of the season for Foyth and Aurier, with the former picking up more game time. Foyth made 25 La Liga appearances for the Villarreal side that finished seventh.
The 24-year-old also picked up a goal and an assist in the league last season, as well as making ten Champions League appearances. Aurier made just half the amount of European features and 19 league appearances.
The Ivory Coast defender still has a good relationship with some of his former Spurs teammates, which was shown in his message to Ryan Sessegnon, for the 22-year-old's birthday which read, "Happy Birthday my son! I am proud of you. Keep going!"
Paulo Gazzaniga
Gazzaniga's team had the most success out of all of Tottenham's outgoings since last summer. Fulham topped the Championship table, beating Bournemouth by two points, over their 46 fixtures.
The goalkeeper had to spend most of the season on the side-line, as the second choice goalkeeper, although he did get to play in the final game of the season, which ended in a 4-0 defeat to Sheffield United. However, Gazzaniga is likely to be excited for his teams return to the Premier League and will hope he will be given more of an opportunity on his return to the top flight.
Dilan Markanday
It was almost like a full circle for Markanday at his new club. The 20-year-old suffered a major hamstring injury when making his debut for Blackburn, but returned for the final day of the season and got 24 minutes on the pitch.
Markanday was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award, where he made 13 appearances, scoring 12 goals and registering four assists, but he missed out on first prize. Blackburn finished eighth in the Championship last season and the winger will be hoping he can help his team climb the table and make an impact in what will be his first full season at the club.
Dele Alli
Dele had to yet again deal with being in and out of the matchday squad, when he made the move to Everton in January. Frank Lampard's side managed to escape relegation, which came down to the final few games of the season, and it means the former Spurs player can continue playing in the top flight next season.
Dele made 11 league appearances for the Toffees and will be wanting to make a lot more next season. In the crucial final games of the season, the 26-year-old stepped up when he was needed, most notably against Crystal Palace and his performance received praise from Lampard.
"I’ll be honest sometimes it’s like we have to wait for you, can you train better? Can you fight to make me play you?" the Everton boss explained.
"Absolute credit to him today to suck it up sometimes. He has so much talent there. What he did was come on with quality, with belief, with legs and energy. He changed the game."
