Dele Alli posts emotional message after Everton midfielder booed by own fans on loan

Dele Alli has posted an emotional message on social media for the first time since being booed by his own supporters.

The Everton midfielder, who is currently at Besiktas on a season-long loan, was replaced just 28 minutes into their Turkish Cup clash against third tier Sanliurfaspor last Wednesday.

Alli was taken off to a chorus of boos when Besiktas had fallen two goals behind, with the Turkish giants managing to fight back to win the cup match 4-2 without the former Tottenham star.

The England international has now taken to Instagram to post an emotional message to his followers: "You saved my life. That's why I will always love you."

The message drew responses from a number of Alli's fellow professionals, including Everton team-mate Alex Iwobi who replied with a praying hands emoji.

Earlier in December, Besiktas' sporting director Ceyhun Kazanci said the Everton midfielder is working hard to get back to his best.

"No one can answer whether Dele Alli can do it right now," Kazanci told TRT Spor. "He is working very hard. He is a player who reached €100m [in value] three years ago. He had a fall."
