Deji to enjoy 20lb weight advantage in fight with legend Floyd Mayweather

YouTube star Deji may have next to no chance against Floyd Mayweather - but he will have a 20lb weight advantage in their fight.

Deji - real name Oladeji Olatunji - takes on former five-weight world champion Mayweather in an eight-round exhibition fight in Dubai on Sunday night. The YouTuber stepped on the scale at 175.2lb for his toughest challenge yet, whilst 45-year-old Mayweather came in at 154.3lb whilst sporting a visible six pack.

After losing his first three fights, Deji picked up his first boxing win against fellow content creator Yousey 'Fousey' Erakat on the undercard of his brother KSI's 'two fights in one night' event in August. Mayweather has competed in two exhibition bouts this year, outclassing former sparring partner Don Moore in May and knocking out MMA fighter Mikuru Asukara in September.

Mayweather and Deji have been clashing over the glove size for their fight as 'Money' wanted 10oz gloves, which are typically used for professional fights, despite the exhibition being contracted to take place with 14oz gloves. Mayweather wore 10oz gloves for his exhibition with Logan Paul last June, which sold over one million pay-per-view buys.

Deji has been told by his coach Daley Perales there is no pressure on his shoulders going into his fight with Mayweather and he should enjoy the opportunity. "His boxing record isn't on the line so I've told him to go in there and enjoy it," Perales told Mirror Fighting. "Not everyone gets to step in there with one of the best of all time and he's got nothing to lose. This is going to be good for Deji in the long term when he gets in the ring with another YouTuber.

"He'll step in there with some other YouTuber and he'll be looking at them like they're nothing because he's shared the ring with one of the greats... I train Deji exactly like my pro fighters so that when he gets in there he'll look like a real fighter and he did that against Fousey."

Mayweather said after weighing in: "I've displayed my skills for so many years, 26 years as a professional just being able. I went to the Olympics and competed against the best fighters from all around the world. As a professional, fighting the top competition from all around the world and just being able to do exhibitions now and compete against people from all walks of life. It's great to be here and tomorrow, I'm going to go out there and put on a show."
