Deji punch stats vs Floyd Mayweather compared to Logan Paul and Conor McGregor

YouTuber Deji landed just three fewer punches than Logan Paul did against Floyd Mayweather, but the pair were both way behind Conor McGregor.

Deji - real name Oladeji Olatunji - was stopped in the final round by ring legend Mayweather in their exhibition bout this past weekend. Despite being nowhere near the boxing level of 'Money', Deji was able to leave the former five-weight world champion with a black eye after the fight.

Official punch stats for the fight have been released and Deji was able to land 25 punches on Mayweather across six rounds, just three less than Paul did when he faced Mayweather in their eight-round exhibition last June. Paul was able to go the distance against the 45-year-old, but Deji was stopped with less than a minute remaining.

Both of the YouTubers landed far fewer punches than former two-weight UFC champion McGregor did in his 2017 fight against Mayweather, which the Irishman lost by stoppage in the 10th round. McGregor landed 111 punches despite competing in his first professional bout on the night, which was 30 more than the amount eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao landed against Mayweather in 2015.

Mayweather was clowning around for most of his fight with Deji, dancing in between rounds and even walking into the corner of his opponent. Fans have also accused him of purposely missing his punches, as a clip showed Mayweather seemingly pulling his shots whilst Deji was backed up against the ropes. Deji was surprised at how slick Mayweather was for a 45-year-old and praised the accuracy of his punches.

"It takes a lot to get in the ring, I am proud of myself for even doing this because initially I was scared to do this fight with Floyd. Now look at me, I'm out here with a big smile on my face. His punch placement was very good and his accuracy was immense, he's very slick. I did catch him but I kind of doubted myself a bit in the ring, over time I was getting the flow of things," the YouTuber said.

Mayweather laughed off his black eye by stating: "That's cool, you guys wanted to see a little something. I had to close the gap and when you close the gap that happens. I'm glad that Deji landed a good shot. This is part of fighting, this is part of entertaining. Everyone wanted to see entertainment and that's what we gave them."
