Mohamed Salah's goalscoring motivation has been revealed, following a tongue-in-cheek gift left behind by former Liverpool team-mate Dejan Lovren.
The Egyptian was superb throughout the 90 minutes at Anfield on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp's side became the first team to defeat Manchester City in the Premier League this season. Salah's goal was the difference in a thrilling encounter, following on from his quick-fire hat-trick against Rangers in the Champions League.
The 30-year-old's latest strike led to Lovren - who departed the Reds for Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg back in 2020 and was a close friend of Salah's - revealing via social media after the game as to just why the former Roma forward may have rediscovered his scoring touch.

Posting on Instagram, Lovren showed how Salah keeps a special cushion bearing the Croatian's face inside the dressing room as a good luck charm on matchdays. He wrote: ''This is how Mo is getting his motivation for his goals. Top hahaha. Always together. You'll see mine soon.''
Having presumably had made a pillow of Salah's face to carry with him along the way, Lovren has since claimed Russian Premier League and Russian Super Cup glory with his side. Making over 130 appearances for Liverpool during his six-year stint, the 33-year-old will no doubt hope for more success for his close friend Salah throughout the 22/23 campaign.
