Soon-to-be new Tottenham signing Dejan Kulusevski has seemingly bid farewell to Juventus fans as a loan deal to Spurs moves closer.
Kulusevski, 21, has agreed to an initial loan which could then turn into a £33million transfer should Spurs want to make the move permanent in the summer.
The Swede looks set to be joined in north London by current Juve midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, with the Uruguayan also reportedly agreeing to join Antonio Conte at Tottenham.
USMNT star Weston McKennie will be remaining put in Italy, it seems, until the summer at the very least, football.london understands.
Kulusevski, Bentancur and a potential Sofyan Amrabat signing could gloss over the recent Luis Diaz and Adama Traore blows that had riled up the Spurs faithful, who were becoming increasingly agitated that Daniel Levy and co were failing to back Antonio Conte sufficiently.
However, these two smart additions will certainly add more quality and competition to the current Lilywhites' squad, which could be thinned if any of Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli or Giovani Lo Celso leave before 11pm on Monday.
Whilst all Tottenham fans eagerly await the confirmation of these late transfer dealings, their soon-to-be versatile attacker has been filmed leaving Italy as he flies over to the UK.
Interestingly enough, Italian journalists were able to catch him, as per Football Italia, to see how he was feeling ahead of this big career move and his 15-word response could certainly be interpreted in many different ways.
He said when leaving a parting message to fans of the Old Lady: “I have enjoyed my time in Italy and will potentially be back one day."
Now, is this more of a long-term career goal to return to the Serie A giants or could the player's mindset be on developing at Spurs during this short loan before demanding a return to Italy come the end of the season?
With it being revealed by many including Fabrizio Romano that the Lilywhites have included a £33m option to by and not an obligation, none of the two possibilities can be ruled out yet.
Is Tottenham just a stepping stone for more regular game time minutes before normal service is resumed at Juventus in the summer? Or was that message more of a see you in the next five years type of scenario?
All will be found out in due course but one thing we do know for certain is just why Fabio Paratici was so keen to reunite with a player that he brought to Juventus from Atalanta in January 2020.
"I think Kulusevski is having a great season," Paratici said, as per Sky Italia when the signing was confirmed two years ago. "He’s scored a few goals, played at a high level, but don’t forget he is only 20 years old [now 21].
"He is also evolving in his role and is capable of taking on different positions in different tactical systems."
