Deion Sanders Puts Critics on Blast After Loss at Oregon: ‘You Better Get Me Right Now’

Throughout his nine-month tenure, Colorado coach Deion Sanders has been subject to criticism—for everything from his calculating methods of roster management to his attire.

Saturday, it became open season on Sanders and his Buffaloes. After a dazzling three-week run of victories over a top-25 team and two rivals, Colorado crashed to Earth with a 42-6 loss at No. 10 Oregon.

Against a torrent of criticism, however, Sanders held firm. The Hall of Fame defensive back used his postgame presser to express in no uncertain terms his belief that better days are ahead.

“One thing I can say honestly and candidly: you better get me right now,” Sanders said. “This is the worst we’re gonna be. You better get me right now.”

Beat up and without their best player in two-way sensation Travis Hunter, the Buffaloes will turn their attention to No. 5 USC in the wake of a loss before which Ducks coach Dan Lanning suggested Colorado was “fighting for clicks.”

Sanders got wind of Lanning’s comment and responded to it after the game.

“I don’t say something just to say stuff for a click, despite what some people might say,” Sanders said. “Yeah, I keep receipts.”
