Deion Sanders Had Bold Message About Colorado’s Future After Another Tough Loss

Deion Sanders was not happy about Colorado’s 28-16 loss to UCLA, which was the Buffaloes' fourth loss in their last five games since starting the 2023 season with three consecutive wins.

Colorado's offensive line allowed quarterback Shedeur Sanders to be sacked seven times, knocked down 13 times and hit on 17 different instances in the loss at the Rose Bowl. Despite the team’s struggles up front offensively and a stout schedule remaining this season, Sanders remains confident that Colorado will return to its winning ways before the 2023 campaign ends.

“I would love to win, I’m accustomed to winning,” Sanders said in Saturday’s postgame news conference. “And we will win. …Just put your seatbelt on and hold on, we will win. “You got to see what could possibly happen with the team that we have. ...We only got our butts kicked once. That was in Oregon. ...There wasn’t no winning that. All the other games, you could see how we could’ve won those games. We could’ve done that, so that’s called hope in our book, and I’m thankful and happy for that.”

Colorado (4-4) is two wins away from earning an appearance in a postseason bowl game. However, the Buffaloes remaining slate of games include home games against Oregon State and Arizona before ending the season with two tough assignments on the road against Washington State and their season finale against Utah.

The last time the Buffaloes played in a bowl game was ’20 when Colorado lost to Texas, 55-23, in the Alamo Bowl under former head coach Karl Dorrell.
