Even before he became a college football coach, Deion Sanders has long been a soundbite machine, known for saying wild and audacious things.
Just last week, after his Colorado Buffaloes upset TCU, Sanders went on a postgame rant asking reporters if they believed in his team, capping that tirade off with, “we keep receipts.” And in the middle of that game, he was lobbying for Travis Hunter to be a Heisman Trophy candidate.
This week, ahead of the Buffs’ home-opener against longtime rival Nebraska, Colorado hosted Fox’s Big Noon Saturday pregame kickoff show. Sanders made his way to the set before the game, and shared with the crew that he slept in his office at Colorado’s Folsom Field the night before.
Why? Deion explains:
“I wanted to wake up and feel it. I wanted to see it empty, then see the transformation.”

There’s little doubt that Colorado’s stadium will be full and rocking when it kicks off against the Cornhuskers on Saturday. The Buffs have a two-game winning streak against Nebraska and haven’t lost to the Huskers in Boulder since 2009. The game was tabbed as a sellout in July.
