Colorado football’s journey to the 2024 College Football Playoff got that much harder after losing to hosting Kansas on Saturday.
The Buffaloes aren’t completely out of the playoff race, but Saturday’s defeat handed the school its third loss of the season and will be a noticeable blemish on the postseason résumé.
In the locker room after the game, Colorado coach Deion Sanders gave his team a pretty blunt assessment as to why he thinks they lost to the Jayhawks.
“The problem is you guys are intoxicated with success,” Sanders told his players after the game. Whew.
The Colorado coach said he ultimately felt this would be a tremendous life lesson for the Buffaloes, and they’ll need to learn it quickly to keep any chance at the playoffs alive.
"Not one of you can say you played your best game, nobody here can say they played good. See the problem is you guys are intoxicated with success”
