Leki Fotu could make his regular season debut with the New York Jets soon.
According to head coach Robert Saleh, as the Jets head to London for their Week 5 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings and there’s a chance Leki Fotu is there.
“We’re looking at possibly Leki Fotu, he’s the one that’s up for discussion,” Saleh said this week.
Fotu, 26, is a run stuffer in the middle of the defensive line. The tackle signed in New York this offseason.
Fotu started in the preseason against the Washington Commanders but landed on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue. Being placed on the injury designation meant Fotu had to miss four games, which he has.
The Jets have opened his practice window this week, which does mean he could end up on New York’s roster before facing the Vikings. On Wednesday, Fotu was listed as being a full participant in practice.
Fotu began his career with the Arizona Cardinals as a fourth-round selection in 2020.
Fotu played in 11 games in 2023, including nine starts, for Arizona. He posted 28 tackles with 2.5 sacks and five tackles for a loss. In four seasons in Arizona, Fotu has 89 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 12 tackles for a loss.
