As fans of Deepika Padukone celebrated one year of the release of her film 'Gehraiyaan', co-star Ananya Panday joined in and gave fans a blast from the past.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress on Saturday, posted an unseen throwback photo with Deepika, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhirya Karwa and director Shakun Batra. "Special people, special movie #1YearOfGehraiyaan missing everyone SO much forever grateful for this," Panday captioned the post.
Meanwhile, Dharma Productions shared a video recap of some of leading lady Deepika's most memorable dialogues and captioned it as, "A deep dive into life. A deep dive into the waves of emotions."
Producer Karan Johar also joined in and shared a video a clip on his Instagram stories and wrote," One year of a film that broke ground, switched genre halfway through, was discussed and debated... But most certainly not ignored! Love you."
Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to sing praise of the film and laud Deepika's performance, especially for her emotional scenes. While some agreed that it was an 'absolutely beautiful film', others said, "Gehraiyaan is a piece of art that we are truly grateful for, and while it may not have resonated with everybody, it is very close to the hearts of people who really understood the soul of the film, and unknowingly might have suffered through similar trauma."
At the same time, another commented, "I think #gehraiyaan was India's #TheWhiteLotus..."
The romantic drama which had a direct-to-digital release last year also starred Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The film is about the modern-day romance between adults and based on the complexities of relationships proved to be an "emotionally exhausting" experience for adults.
On the work front, Deepika was recently seen in the action thriller film 'Pathaan' opposite Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. She will be next seen in director Siddharth Anand's aerial action thriller 'Fighter' opposite Hrithik Roshan.
Ananya, on the other hand, will be next seen in the comedy film 'Dream Girl 2' opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. She will also reunite with Siddhant in the upcoming drama 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan'.
