Deebo Samuel Has Brutal Response When C.J. Gardner-Johnson Questions His Toughness

The war of words between Deebo Samuel and C.J. Gardner-Johnson went to another level on Sunday.

The latest in the feud between the two players, which goes back to last season’s NFC championship game, Lions defensive back called out Samuel’s toughness following a brawl during warmups between the Browns and 49ers.

A clip of the fight, which went viral after being posted to X (formerly Twitter) by @NFLonFox, shows Samuel fighting with several Browns players before teammate Trent Williams joined the fracas.

Gardner-Johnson re-shared the post on ‘X" while claiming Samuel only wanted to fight after the arrival of Williams.

“U see Deeboo Run 😂 Typical WR behavior … THEN ACT HARD WHEN TRENT SAVE HIM 🥱,” chided Gardner-Johnson.

Upon the unusual jab by a player who was thousands of miles away playing against the Buccaneers, Samuel responded by sharing a video from the 2020 season showing Gardner-Johnson getting punched by Bears wide receiver Javon Wims–with a less than subtle warning.

"Boy stop playing before you get a rewind of this….. boy sit down 🤡," said Samuel, who also included a clown emoji.

Due to the success of the Lions and 49ers this season, the two players appear headed for a possible NFC playoff showdown for the second consecutive season. (Gardner-Johnson played for the Eagles last season. And though he's currently on injured reserve, he could return for the playoffs.)

It’s safe to say, that if they do meet in the postseason, the two will likely not be sharing pleasantries.
