A Lanarkshire supermarket worker is celebrating 20 years of service at her local store.
Jillian Cahill was recognised by colleagues at Aldi this week after reaching the impressive milestone.
The 44-year-old, now assistant store manager at Aldi in Carluke, first joined the chain as a store assistant in 2002.
Then aged just 24, Jillian worked in the original Wishaw store before quickly progressing.
Within a year, she was promoted to deputy store manager, progressing further still in the business into her current role.
Following the birth of her second child, she made the move to the Carluke store on Kirkton Street which allowed her to work closer to home.
Jillian considers herself to be a “special buys enthusiast,” who is always excited to discover what’s new on Aldi’s middle aisle.
Speaking about her long service, Jillian told Lanarkshire Live : “It has been a real privilege to work at Aldi for 20 years, and I’ve really enjoyed being part of the journey.
"It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. I’ve loved working here and want to thank my amazing colleagues who make it such a great place to come to work every day.
"I’m looking forward to the next 20.”
When asked about her favourite products at Aldi, Jillian replied: “I have a real sweet tooth, and absolutely love the Mrs McGregor’s Caramel Shortcake Slices.
"They are just perfect with a cup of tea at the end of a long day.”
Richard Holloway, regional managing director for Scotland, told us : “Without the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the excellent and efficient service we’ve become known for.
“Colleagues like Jillian are the cornerstone of our business and I thank her for her continued dedication throughout the last 20 years.”
