West Ham captain Declan Rice has admitted that his side conceded the 'five worst goals' since he arrived at the club after they were left routed by Newcastle United last night.
Goals from Callum Wilson, Joelinton and substitute Alexander Isak cemented the Magpies' spot in the Premier League's top four after their 2-0 win over historic rivals Manchester United over the weekend saw them move up to third.
Eddie Howe's side will now be full of confidence for their trip to Brentford on Saturday but Rice conceded that a trip to Fulham this weekend will be tough after the Irons were punished mentally against Newcastle.

"I think the effort was there," Rice said on Sky Sports last night. "Obviously when you’re five goals down it’s really tough mentally to keep going but you have to keep going because in football anything can happen.
"You always have to keep pushing. The game felt really stretched, when we was two nil down and we were trying to get back into the game they maybe had one or two more chances to try and score but when you’re at home and you’re pushing, you’ve got the fans behind you, you don’t wanna just sit back and not do anything.
"I can’t fault the lads’ effort for trying to make things good but the five goals we conceded, it’s not what West Ham’s built on and for me, as a player, I don’t think we’ve conceded five worse goals as a team probably since I’ve played for West Ham, to be honest with you."
