Arsenal continue to show a different side to them this season as Mikel Arteta's men used their street smarts to see out a hard-fought win at the London Stadium.
The Gunners were renowned for failing to deal with adversity when things weren't going their way in a match. Often, when they conceded a goal, they would tend to crumble under the pressure.
But that wasn't the case against West Ham - and hasn't been all year long - as Gabriel responded to Jarrod Bowen's equaliser to seal a 2-1 win which could turn out to be a vital three points by the end of the season as they look to secure a top-four finish.
Arsenal took a first-half lead with a Rob Holding header but their momentum was immediately halted with Bowen providing a sucker punch just before half-time. The game was hanging in the balance with the Hammers arguably the better of the two teams but the Gunners came out for the second half with more intent as they regained the initiative with a header from Gabriel.
Arsenal had to weather a late surge from West Ham but didn't fold under the pressure as they claimed a 2-1 victory. The north Londoners were by no means their best but were still able to grind out the three points.
Throw in the fact that Tottenham had leapfrogged them in the Premier League table after a 3-1 win over Leicester City, they showed real guts to stand up and be counted, while also displaying a level of maturity to see the game out.
That fighting spirit and savviness was perfectly encapsulated towards the end of the match as they tried to wind the clock down. Arsenal resorted to a few tactics to halt West Ham's momentum with Eddie Nketiah standing in front of an Aaron Cresswell freekick late in the game.

This prompted a furious reaction from the West Ham defender who grabbed Nketiah by the shirt prompting a melee that saw almost all the players on the pitch get involved as both keepers came rushing out. Eventually, the players were separated and dispersed before Nketiah was booked, but Declan Rice wanted more.
He went to square up to Nketiah who was willing to stand his ground. This prompted Rice to yell "shut your mouth" in the direction of the Arsenal striker, according to football.london.
It was like water off a duck's back for Nketiah as Rice was only wasting his own side's time so the forward continued to jaw back at his former Chelsea teammate.
Nketiah knew exactly what he was doing and cleverly towed the line between winding the clock down while not putting himself in jeopardy of getting sent off - somewhat of a veteran move that the Gunners wouldn't have attempted last season.
