Declan Rice: Man City expected to launch bid for Arsenal transfer target as West Ham hold out for £100m

West Ham are braced for an approach from Manchester City for Arsenal’s No1 target Declan Rice.

The Gunners have been leading the race for Rice all summer and have already had two bids rejected.

The second of those was on Tuesday and the total package was worth a club record £90million. The Gunners are expected to make a third offer.

West Ham want at least £100m for their captain and are now expecting City to make a formal approach for him.

City have lost their own captain, Ilkay Gundogan, as he is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this month.

The treble winners are already planning to strengthen their ranks by bringing in Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for a deal that could eventually be worth £30m.

Rice, as well as attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, is also on the radar of Manchester United.
