Declan Rice makes transfer preference clear amid Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea battle

West Ham United captain Declan Rice is ready to make it clear he favours a summer transfer to Arsenal, as per the Mirror.

The north Londoners are said to have put in a huge amount of effort into ensuring they land Rice at the end of the current campaign and it is claimed the player's preference is a move to the Emirates Stadium. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, who is the Gunners' primary target for the summer window, football.london understands.

Hammers boss David Moyes has admitted that it will be an uphill battle to keep the England international at the London Stadium. "We honestly hope he stays," said Moyes earlier this month when discussing his captain's future with the club.

"We'd love for him to be a West Ham player but we are aware that might not be the case at the end of the season. So that's one of the scenarios around planning.

"There are plans that we have Dec here but we're also fully aware there is a good chance we won't have him." Rice has made it no secret of his desire to play in the UEFA Champions League, a competition that Arsenal have managed to qualify for, securing a place in Europe's Premier competition for the first time since 2016.
