Declan Rice has been named as West Ham United Fans’ Footballer of the Year for 2022 after an outstanding year for the Hammers.
Rice, who officially became the club captain following Mark Noble’s retirement in the summer, has played 47 times so far for the Hammers in all competitions this calendar year, scoring once to help the Hammers reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.
This calendar year, Rice has scored four goals at club level, sandwiching his goal in the Europa League against Lyon in between goals away at Kidderminster Harriers and Southampton in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively.

Rice has played in 33 of the Hammers’ 34 Premier League matches this year, starting 32 of them and captaining his side in 31 of them.
This season, Rice has played every minute of West Ham’s league campaign, scoring once and providing two league assists. He has also featured in five of the Hammers’ eight matches in the Europa Conference League, with all eight ending in victory.
West Ham fans voted for their player of 2022 with Rice taking 59.4% of the votes. In second place was Jarrod Bowen, who earned 20.8% of the votes.
Third on the four-man shortlist was striker Michail Antonio, who earned 11% of the votes. Centre-back Craig Dawson finished fourth, earning 8.8% of the votes.
Across the Reach PLC football network, supporters have been voting for their Player of the Year from across all clubs.
Rice did not make the top 20 for that particular award, despite winning the West Ham award.
After over 32,000 votes, Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes won the vote with 26.6%. Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah ( 21.3% ) and Arsenal Women’s Beth Mead ( 19.2% ) complete the rest of the top three.
