Former Motherwell captain Declan Gallagher's proposed move from Aberdeen to St Mirren is off, with the Paisley club now pursuing other targets.
Saints held extensive discussions with Gallagher's representatives over the last few days and thought they had agreed a deal in principle for the Scotland international.
But the Daily Record reports that they backed out after complications arose, with Aberdeen having given permission for negotiations to take place.
It's believed that Gallagher also has interest from England, but he may stay to fight for his place at Pittodrie.
