The plan is nothing new for the Scotland international having played for Robinson at Motherwell and he’s not surprised it’s now starting to come to fruition for the Paisley club.
Saints enjoyed a 3-0 victory against Dundee United last time out and he says the first win of the season seven days earlier against Ross County was the catalyst for that result.
Speaking exclusively to Express Sport, Gallagher said: “I thought we were excellent, we’ve been working hard on our shape for the last couple of weeks now.

“It’s taking it’s toll in the game. You can see we’re very hard to break down. Also you can see that we’ve got two boys up front that will cause most teams trouble this season.
“Definitely, coming in from last week getting that 1-0 win, the boys were excellent and when you win games that breeds confidence and that showed.
“We played with our heads up, everybody was wanting the ball and working hard for each other.”
Curtis Main scored a brace on Saturday against a stuttering Tannadice side and Gallagher, who also played with the Englishman at ‘Well, described him as unplayable.
The central defender was also delighted to get his first win and clean sheet under his belt having been suspended against Ross County following his sending off in the 4-1 defeat against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Saints have now not conceded a goal in their last two games, collecting six points and scoring four at the other end in the process.
And that is why the 31-year-old is going into the Premiership clash at home to Hibs this weekend brimming with confidence.
Gallagher continued: “Curtis was absolutely outstanding – his work-rate off the ball, obviously people will notice him for his goals, but the things people don’t notice is how he holds the ball up for us and gets us up the park.
“I thought he was unplayable and if we can keep that Curtis Main all season, then we’re going to be flying.
“Getting the clean sheet is very important, more often than not if you get a clean sheet you’re going to win the game, we take pride in that as defenders.
“The boys got it last week and me coming in this week, we got another one this week, so I’m delighted for myself to get a clean sheet too.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be back in the fold with all the boys and just glad that we got those three points.
“ We’re very confident. Two clean sheets, two victories and goals. We have to go in there full of confidence. Hibs drew with Rangers but we’re going in with two wins and we’ll be looking to do the same as we’ve done for the last two weeks.”
